As soon as we thought things could start getting back to normal after the freak wind storm- Wednesday happened. Over the weekend weather reports started warning of a TON of snow heading our way. Even State government prepared by declaring a state of emergency for NY on Tuesday and Wednesday.
I woke up on Tuesday morning and we had MAYBE an inch of snow. I thought the rest of the day would be pretty normal. Then I realized that we were just about to get into the worst of it. By noon, security and the higher-ups of campus sent out notices that the campus was about to shut down….again.
Then the snow hit. It was odd because it was never the big heavy snow flakes, but just tiny ones- but they never stopped for almost 24 hours. It was like all of winter waited for this Wednesday to come before it would hit. I took advantage of the snowday, however, and went out gallivanting in the deep snow with friends. It went above my knees at its deepest points.
Needless to say, the snow caused what was already a mess to be even more of a mess. I will again express my utmost gratitude for those who spent hours and hours digging us out and ensuring our safety. Thank you.
